Free Laboratory Testing

Architects and specifiers - send us your tiles and we’ll test the slip resistance and sustainability qualities and send you the report

Yes. You read that correctly. We’ll test the slip resistance of a floor sample delivered to us for no fee and provide you with a report detailing its friction properties. This will help you comply with Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations and BS 7976 & BS 13036-4

Who is this service for?

This service is primarily aimed at architects and specifiers. Many tiles come with an ‘R Rating’ that doesn’t necessarily translate into real world slip resistance tests once installed. Selecting a tile, particularly for commercial properties often falls to the architect and we will help you make sure that whichever tile you choose has a slip resistance that matches your needs.

What’s Included in the Report

The report contains technical details about the slip resistance qualities of the sample in both wet and dry condition and is given a simple banding in terms of risk category.

At additional cost, we can also provide a sustainable slip resistance test (Achievable slip resistance value after a period of time. Find out more on Wikipedia).

How Long Does it Take?

Depending on workload and available resources, we aim to get your report back to you within 7 days.
